It all started when Josh Korody and Jesse Crowe met at a friend’s birthday party in November of 2010. After the two Canadians realised that their birthdays are only four days apart and that they share a love for bands like The Jesus and Mary Chain, Slowdive and My Bloody Valentine they soon decided to make music together. Luckily, we have to say, because Beliefs play wonderfully atmospheric Dream-Pop. They neatly combine distorted Shoegaze riffs and a lot of reverb with unforgettable hooks and their beautiful vocal harmonies. By the way, despite being from Canada, there’s a song about Berlin on their self-titled debut album. „Mitte“ is inspired by Crowe’s visit to Germany’s capital, where she discovered her favourite bar „8MM Bar“ and somehow it actually seems like Belief have made the perfect soundtrack for the moment in which you leave this bar at five in the morning, with the sun just rising above the city.
