The Reeperbahn Festival Conference is the central industry gathering of the music business within the framework of the Reeperbahn Festival – Europe’s largest platform for pop culture and the music industry. Since 2006, we have brought together industry professionals from around the world every year to inspire new ideas and drive progress in music, business, and society.
With around 190 program sessions, the Conference offers a diverse range of networking formats and practical, hands-on sessions. It is aimed at professionals from all sectors of the international music industry – from recorded music, live entertainment, and publishing to media, technology, administration, and politics.
The Conference is complemented by the Reeperbahn Festival itself: featuring around 500 concerts across more than 70 venues, the festival places a strong focus on supporting emerging artists. The curated Arts & Word section expands the program with more than 20 events, including readings, live podcasts, talks, guided tours, performances, and exhibitions that explore social issues through artistic perspectives.
With this year’s motto, “Forever Legit?”, we invite you to explore and critically reflect on the music industry and its transformation from a holistic perspective. We want to listen to young voices, create open spaces, and enable genuine participation. Is everything we do still legitimate? That is the question we are asking with this year’s edition.
Our goal is to strengthen exchange within the industry, share knowledge, and foster sustainable, future-oriented networks. Diversity, equality, and sustainability form the guiding principles of our work – together with around 5,000 industry participants from up to 50 countries who join the Reeperbahn Festival Conference each year.
Through international activities at key industry events around the world, we exchange ideas and highlight the importance of the German and European music industry on a global stage. Our colleagues attend industry events worldwide, such as the creative conference South by Southwest and the Eurosonic Noorderslag Festival. International delegations made up of music industry professionals also travel globally on behalf of the Reeperbahn Festival, discovering new musical landscapes and building networks for music, business, and society. In doing so, we support sustainable and long-term economic, cultural, and social development while acting as a bridge between the European and global music industries.
