Metal meets disco in a sweaty warehouse – The Dark combine the most intense live experiences of the most diverse stylistic languages to create a consistent style full of physicality and devotion. Heavy riffs and crisp drumming collide with the remarkably versatile vocals of singer Craig Johns, who masters clean hooks in metalcore style as well as bloodcurdling growls that would make even Marcus Bischoff sit up and take notice. The quartet from Los Angeles did so much right with their very first single, ‘Chemicals’ (2024), that many people had to rub their eyes in disbelief: These guys have only been around for a year?
