Hendrika
Selina Heyligers-Hare appeared on the radar of the Canadian music scene three years ago with all the self-confidence of a seasoned folk artist. The songwriter from the Yukon impresses right from the word go with her incredibly powerful voice and professionalism on all kinds of instruments, from guitar to bass to keyboard. Her artistic roots range from bluegrass to classic rock, from Americana folk to balladic country, from pastoral pop to charming indie - but at no point seeing her slotted neatly into any of these categories. Songs such as “Alder” (2022) or “You've Got Gold” (2024) are proof of her remarkable versatility, which has made her one of Canada's most interesting new folk artists under the name Hendrika. Last year, her debut EP “I Can't Remember” (2024) delighted not only her loyal fanbase, but also tastemakers at Exclaim! and Fifteen Questions. Now she's coming to Hamburg for the first time with fresh song material.
