Hiqpy
The band had only been formed for barely a year, and already, they were playing at renowned Dutch festivals such as Eurosonic Noorderslag and SomPop. With a richly produced blend of fuzzy guitars and emotive melodies, crashing percussion and the delicate vocals of Abir Hamam, the quartet known as Hiqpy have since been captivating audiences from Venlo to Amsterdam with lasting enthusiasm. However, they have received support not only from their ever-growing fanbase, but also from Grammy-winning producer Danton Supple (Coldplay, Elbow, U2), under whose guidance their debut single, “Something” (2025), was created – an outstanding example of modern indie rock that flirts with dream pop and grunge. Since then, Hiqpy have been inundated with awards and accolades, have dominated Dutch radio stations with great success, and have consequently already secured a deal with Sony. This year saw the release of their first studio album, “Slow Death Of A Good Girl” (2026), and one thing is already certain: The European indie scene hasn’t been graced with such a mature, versatile, and atmospheric debut in a long time.
