Karen Dió
Crunching guitar grooves, powerful drums, and confident vocals brimming with riot grrrl energy: Karen Dió’s sound features many tried-and-true elements, several sources of inspiration, and no compromises. As a founding member of the Brazilian power-pop band Violet Soda, the singer and guitarist has already gained experience both on and off stage. However, with the EP “My World” and songs like “Sick Ride” (2024), she has established herself in recent years as a solo artist who can hold her own on the international stage, even outside Brazil’s vibrant music scene. Her influences range from Nirvana to Bikini Kill to Avril Lavigne—a fact that hasn’t gone unnoticed by some big names here in London since she moved there. She’s already had the chance to open for Sum 41 and Incubus, and has even been praised to the skies by none other than Fred Durst. Her new EP “Fugaz” (2026) demonstrates with unbridled energy just how masterfully she nails her blend of alternative, garage, and skate punk—now live on stage here in Hamburg for the first time.
