From Kiev out into the world and beyond to the horizon: Valeriya Kolesnyk’s deeply hopeful dance pop knows no boundaries. Years ago, she established herself in the Ukrainian music scene with her debut album, ‘Быть первой’ (2019), and filled the country’s clubs with dance-crazy fans. Her career took off, and as KLER, the young singer was on the verge of making the leap to Europe. Then, war came and changed everything. But instead of giving up, KLER immersed herself further in her creative work, refining her tracks and her voice while searching for the next production tricks. Give up? Out of the question. Singles such as ‘Be Brave’ and the summery, groovy nu-disco anthem ‘Ланіти’ (2023) speak for themselves. Her credo: ‘Keep going, keep growing, keep moving forward’. And she’s doing just that. With her second album, ‘Яка є’ (2024), the singer–songwriter delivers an outstandingly produced synth-pop work that will pave her way onto European stages. No doubt about it. Features with the artist alyona alyona – who has already received praise from us – underline the level KLER has reached. So, it’s high time for her own Reeperbahn debut.
