She actually just wanted to help out two friends who were working on their debut EP. So, over a reggae riddim, Luiza records a few lines, singing of her love for nature, raving about having her feet in the water and her head on fire. The track is called “Soleil Bleu” (2025) and promptly became the viral summer hit of the year in the French-speaking world. Tens of millions of streams later, the bedroom producer and vivacious singer unexpectedly became a social media sensation, captivating the whole of France from morning TV to the biggest festival stages. She began as the daughter of a French jazz bassist and a Brazilian dancer. She attended the conservatoire in Rennes, ended up on the island of La Réunion in the Indian Ocean, became a documentary photographer and eventually moved to Paris to live in a squatted house. Trained as a globetrotter in absorbing and processing multicultural influences, she is equally adept at working with chansons and electro beats, the laid-back style of a dub track and driving cumbia rhythms. As expected, her new singles, such as the Carbonne-featured “Etincelles” (2025) or the dreamy summer evening soundtrack “Jet Lag” (2026), showcase Luiza as a highly talented performer who dances in the sunset like a cross between Manu Chao and Pippi Longstocking.
