If your own biography harbours at least a bit of mystery, it never really does harm to your image. Secrets are attractive, and Sophie Morgan certainly knows how to flirt with various theories about her career. Did she run away from home aged 16 to join a circus in Paris? Was she discovered busking in Liverpool? Was there really a spur-of-the-moment support tour with the Waterboys afterwards? No matter what's true and what not, the British musician with a thing for the extravagant is undeniably fascinating. Influenced by The Cure and Leonard Cohen, but also by burlesque aesthetics and Parisian theatricality, various stories have been circulating about this extraordinary talent since 2023. Musically sitting somewhere between melodic indie pop circa 1997 and chamber orchestra arrangements, singles such as ‘Matador’ and ‘He's My Man’ (2024) shot to global success in no time at all, making the name Luvcat known across generations. In addition to the song ‘Love And Money’, fans of this highly talented female artist can look forward to more material later this year – and she’ll also be presenting this on our stage in September!
