Lynx IRL
When Lynx IRL first appeared on the scene three years ago with her debut EP ‘Myosis’ (2023), the French underground rap scene was left wondering what had hit them. Futuristic hip-hop straddling trap and UK bass, with breakbeats and jungle influences straight out of the deepest recesses of the nineties? There hadn’t been anything like it for a long time. With jazz and rave culture also featuring prominently in Lynx IRL’s eclectic style, she blends the codes of various subcultures with a laid-back flow, crafting hybrid tracks of timeless quality. The results are as physical as the pulsating ‘Humaine’ (2024) or the acid banger ‘Focus’ (2026), and frequently recall the heyday of Big Beat and drum & bass, evoking The Prodigy and the Chemical Brothers. It is this untrammeled energy, straddling modern club culture and the hip-hop scene, which has transformed Lynx IRL’s sound into a phenomenon in France in double-quick time – and now it’s spilling over to us here too. Buckle up for a gig that’ll have the sweat dripping from every surface.
