Morphide

Even before releasing their debut album, “Anhedonia” (2022), Morphide had already been hailed across the European metal scene. Singles such as “Mayhem” (2019) and “Panopticon” (2022) had racked up hundreds of thousands of streams by that point. The Latvian trio deliver this anthemic blend of dramatically structured alternative metal and explosive djent breakdowns with a precision rarely seen even during the heyday of metalcore in the 2000s. Added to this are the epic vocals of singer Jelizaveta Zovnercuka, who masters growls as well as crystal-clear passages and a delicate intonation with ease. The songs on their new album, “Mental” (2026), are also framed by a thematic concept that follows the Kübler-Ross model, better known as the five stages of grief. Accordingly, the focus is on mental health as a whole, but also on loss and trauma and how we can overcome both. With great expertise, Morphide thus create a musical balm for the soul that can be as stirring as it is healing and whose intensity stands up to any comparison.
