No sooner had they successfully formed, SKiRT. released two smash hits – the singles “Sweet” and “Your Misery” (2025) – leaving no doubt that here was a combo with enormous potential. On their debut EP “DEMO” (2025), the Hamburg-based quartet blend aggressive downstroke guitars, rhythmic grooves harking back to the early grunge years of the nineties and raw, unbridled rebellion – giving the middle finger big-style to the status quo, patriarchal structures and all those who perpetuate them. Empowerment is not only a lyrical theme, but a conviction that extends right into the band’s production methods. Singer Lena Harrison and guitarist Daniel Priess not only produced the EP’s five tracks themselves, but also handled the conception and filming of the music videos for “Sweet” and “Your Misery.” For SKiRT., DIY is more than just a label; it’s a lived commitment beyond all the industry’s monetary or structural constraints. High time, then, that these four are now taking to our stage here too.
