Voxtrot
Act One: Just as the internet was entering its adolescence, Voxtrot’s debut EP ‘Raised By Wolves’ (2005) earned them an excellent reputation not only in the US but across the global blogosphere as introspective indie rock innovators, comfortably blending jangle, heartland and chamber influences with technical production finesse. Subsequently, their self-titled debut also garnered unanimously enthusiastic reviews – from Pitchfork to Spin. With a sound somewhere between The Smiths, The Strokes and The Velvet Underground, the band seemed well on their way to the very top. And then, suddenly, it was all over. Act Two: After spending the entire 2010s and beyond in hibernation, Voxtrot celebrate their comeback in 2022 and regularly tease their stunned fans with new announcements and the odd single, such as the incredibly catchy ‘Fighting Back’ (2025). Both physical and undeniably danceable, yet also imbued with a hazy romanticism, their second album “Dreamers In Exile” (2026) – released after 16 years – now blends contemporary indie sound with a bittersweet, nostalgic touch. So, as Act Three begins, it becomes clear: the perfect moment for their long-overdue Reeperbahn Festival debut has arrived.
