Forever Legit?

With our programme, talks, and conference activities, we aimed — under the motto “Forever Legit” — to understand and critically examine the music industry and its transformation in a holistic way. We listened to young voices, created open spaces, and enabled genuine participation. Is everything we are doing still legitimate — also for future generations?

 

Our high­lights

Spot­light On

The name says it all: With “Spotlight On,” we put the spotlight on selected thematic areas of the Reeperbahn Festival for the first time.

Each Spotlight brought together various formats—such as concerts, talks, networking, and special program highlights—into its own thematic world, complete with separate Spotlight tickets that allowed attendees to experience select content independently of the main festival.

In 2026, this created dedicated experience spaces within the festival program—curated, focused, and with a clear thematic identity. It made it easier to access exactly the scenes, sounds, and communities that you're really interested in.

Our pro­gram­me part­nerships

Together with strong partners, the Reeperbahn Festival Conference expanded its scope. Our program partnerships brought additional perspectives, in-depth discussions, and new communities to the conference—and turned it into a space for exchange that went beyond music. VUT - VUT Indie House

The Association of Independent Music Entrepreneurs (Verband unabhängiger Musikunternehmer*innen e.V.) is committed to ensuring that the cultural diversity, to which independent music entrepreneurs make a major contribution, is more widely recognised and appreciated. With the “VUT Indie House”, we implemented a jointly curated programme of sessions and receptions as part of the Reeperbahn Festival Conference.

BVMI – Bundesverband Musikindustrie

The Bundesverband Musikindustrie (BVMI) represents the interests of around 150 record producers and music companies, which account for a good 80 percent of the German music market. The BVMI was represented at the Conference with its own sessions on relevant industry topics.

BDKV – Bundesverband der Konzert- und Veranstaltungswirtschaft

The Bundesverband der Konzert- und Veranstaltungswirtschaft shapes and optimises the economic, political and legal framework for concert, festival and tour organisers, guest performance agencies, artist management companies and event agencies in the pop and classical music sectors. At the Conference, the BDKV was holding various sessions and, with its ‘Future Talents Day’, hosted a programme designed to support young talent in the music industry.

We are part of the Keychange Initiative

Our initiative for diversity and gender equality in the music industry.

The Reeperbahn Festival is part of the Keychange Initiative – a global alliance committed to equality and diversity in the music industry. By participating, we commit to supporting at least 50% of the performing artists and speakers within our program who belong to an underrepresented gender. In doing so, we actively contribute to creating equal opportunities and strengthening diversity on stages, panels, and within the industry.
