“Why don't we do it in the road?”, The Beatles asked in 1968 on the White Album.
Stefanie Hempel has been walking the streets of St. Pauli for over 20 years now, singing her way through the wild and glorious history of The Beatles.
She is the founder of Hempel’s Beatles tour, the first and most iconic Beatles tour in Hamburg. Armed with her ukulele and a lot of passion, the singer and musician has been leading fans, tourists and musicians from all over the world across the famous - or infamous - red light area of St. Pauli, celebrating Hamburg's greatest pop music heritage. Nobody knows these places, the stories, the Beatles’ companions and contemporaries better than Stefanie Hempel. An avid Beatles fan since her childhood, she has become a full-blown institution in Hamburg’s music scene. Stefanie is a not just a guide, she is a performer, a storyteller, a historian and she is widely regarded as one of the most profound Beatles experts.
“The greatest Beatles-Tour of all time“  (MTV UK)
“A magical musical tour.“  (L.A. Times)

The tour will start at the information desk  on the Spielbudenplatz and is limited to a maximum of 30 participants. You will find a registration list at the starting-point of the tour, where you can secure one of the spaces from festival Wednesday on. A limited amount of these spaces will be reserved for people who decide to come along spontaneously, so don’t worry if the list is already full. Those spaces will be distributed first come first serve just before the start of the tour.
