Cash Savage & The Last Drinks

Music / Rock / Melbourne, Australia

You know the story: a talented girl is born into a musical family and is sharp enough to learn all sorts of tricks by watching her mum and dad – even that one cool uncle who’s always ripping the dirtiest jokes at birthday parties and who has, just by the way, been playing the keyboard for Nick Cave’s band for three decades on the side – and starts her own musical career before she’s even old enough to take her driver’s licence test. The things that Cash Savage (yes, that's her real name) has been able to achieve since her debut “Wolf” dropped in 2010 might sound like something out of a fairy tale, was a lot of hard work however – marked by hurdles man wouldn’t know. The Melbourne born singer welds rugged alternative country with her energetic grating iron organ onto punky blues elements served straight by her band The Last Drinks. Calm and emotive is something she can pull off too, if she wants, however Savage mostly chooses to live up to her name, especially on her later albums “One of Us” (2017) and “Good Citizens” (2018). The same goes for her live shows: empowerment meets ferociousness in an uncompromising conglomerate.
