Kollektiva. – Measurable Success

Arts / Performing Arts / Austria, Germany, Denmark, Spain, United States of America, Taiwan

A dance performance that could not be more topical: How do lockdown, wearing of face masks and maintaining a minimum distance of 150 centimetres affect our bodies and our psyche at a collective and individual level? Closeness and a feeling of comfort – or discomfort – going hand-in-hand with the closeness of bodies are a central issue of the works of the female dance ensemble Kollektiva., an issue even further reinforced by the social distancing rules in the wake of the Corona pandemic. Bodies, whether near or far, are linked by experience, reaching far beyond mere recognition. The short work presented at Reeperbahn Festival will deal with freedom of movement and social distancing in a playfully abstract manner. They also deal with the topic of femininity and being a woman* - on an individual, collective and social level.
