Music / Pop, R'n'B/Soul / Berlin, Germany

As the Brussels-born daughter of a Belgian-Congolese mother and a father from the French-Caribbean island of Martinique, Kezia Quental not only has one of the most melodious names you could imagine, she also has a rich cultural background. Meaning she came into contact with a wide variety of musical styles from across the globe at an early age, has learned to use her voice and developed a passion for dancing, rhythm and sound in general. Today, the independent singer, songwriter and composer is well on her way to elevating contemporary R'n'B to a whole new level by fusing afrobeats and breezy soul with ultra-modern production. Songs like “I got your Back” or “Sanctuary” are not only compelling proof of her vocal brilliance, but also of her boundless creativity and intercultural sensitivity – which she has refined to a degree of perfection on this year's debut album "Genesis" for which most others would need numerous attempts and years. It’s certainly no exaggeration to refer to her as one of Europe's most promising and exceptional talents the current music scene has to offer.
