Liz Lawrence

Music / Pop, Singer-Songwriter / United Kingdom

The fact that Liz Lawrence has had extensive experience playing in various bands throughout her youth becomes apparent quite quickly. Artistically, she excels not only as a singer and songwriter, but also as a composer and producer, a multi-instrumentalist with an emancipated stage presence and a lack of inhibition. After her debut album "Bedroom Hero" reaches the top of the Bandcamp charts in 2012 and after supporting artists of the likes of Bombay Bicycle Club, Scouting for Girls or Black, she’s regularly touted as one of the most promising newcomers by England's press. Not quite indie rock, not quite lo-fi folk or synth-pop, the lively all-rounder has always found her own creative path and on songs like "Where the Bodies are Buried" or "Down for Fun", she combines well thought-out lyrics with a keen sense for catchy hooks. "The Avalanche", her third studio album, was released last year and is yet again a brilliant manifesto for female empowerment.
