Woman impersonating a man to make a career. This is the way the life history of the American jazz musician Billy Tipton that had been told for decade. The film "No Ordinary Man" shows Tipton's life differently. Narrated and played by trans artists, it reveals the portrait of an extraordinary hero. Together with Tripton's son Billy Jr., the director duo Aisling Chin–Yee and Chase Joynt, succeed in telling the story of a person who remained hidden but yearned to be seen.

"No Ordinary Man" is a trailblazingly different view of the trans-culture icon Billy Tipton that illustrates what is possible when a community colaborates in order to honour the legacy of a very special person.
