German festival premiere

Q&A with director Jim Rakete after the screening.

What has actually happened since the Paris climate agreement in 2015? Not enough by far, young people feel. The future is massively threatened by global warming, exploitation of fossil raw materials and environmental pollution. That's why the former political disenchantment has become something else, starting from Greta Thunberg's school strike: The year 2019 means protest.

In the documentary "NOW", the photographer Jim Rakete meets six young climate activists of Greta's generation: Luisa Neubauer (Fridays for Future), Felix Finkbeiner (Plant for the Planet), Vic Barrett (Youth v. Gov), Marcella Hansch (Pacific Garbage Screening), Nike Mahlhaus (Ende Gelände) and Zion Lights (Extinction Rebellion). "NOW" talks about the power of a new worldwide movement. For, whatever must be done, it must be done NOW.
