Oscar Lang

Music / Indie / London, United Kingdom

Oscar Lang is the dictionary definition of a self-made musician: At eleven years of age, he first decides to start writing his own songs that deal primarily with his frustrating school days and the typical worries of an adolescing youth. For a few years, this trend continues, until Lang and his colleague Beabadoobee release “The Moon Song” in 2017 under their own efforts – their first self-produced single. From thereon, the creative juices start flowing, their first album “Teenage Hurt” appears shortly afterwards and establishes the songwriter as a talented representative of his guild, shaped by Mac DeMarco as much as John Lennon or video game soundtracks. While at the beginning of his career, lo-fi charm still mingled with bedroom pop, his official debut album “Chew the Scenery” (2021) had swung him toward the direction of psychedelic rock, which he transposed from the bedroom to the big stage. Lucky then, that he’ll be coming to show us his new stuff later this year.
