Pillow Queens

Music / Indie, Rock / Dublin, Ireland

Presented by: Keychange

For several years now, four queer women from Dublin have been making jaws drop with their unrestrained live energy anywhere people would lend them an ear – and this has not been a rare sight: KEXP, Other Voices and the SafeIreland initiative, which campaigns against domestic violence, have featured the Pillow Queens in their programs. The lively quartet has also already played shows with Future Islands and Idles, so ever since their brilliant debut “In Waiting” from 2020, they’ve been in the mix. Occasionally laced with thoughtful melancholy, other times with hymn-like hooks, their indie rock, with tracks like "Gay Girls" or "Liffey", hits deep and tickles emotions which music rarely manages to reach. The fact that they manage to do this again and again is all the more reason to give them a close listen.
