Right at the beginning of their career, QuinzeQuinze open up with a phenomenal display of just how rich and limitless human forms of expression can be. Their first EP "Nevaneva", with an eponymous short film and spectacular musical and visual prowess, made the quintet's intentions abundantly clear: let reality and inebriation, trip and dream collide into one, on all levels of perception. Polynesian percussion, to'ere, steel drums, Caribbean calypso vibes, all making love with dub and dancehall – the resulting lovechild is a sensual fusion of inspirations that sounds like nothing else in the world currently. QuinzeQuinze have created their own soundbank of countless self-recorded samples and have developed into real studio geeks. Their signature is as mystical as it is lively, has a surreal and a political level, exemplified by their denunciation of the 193 atomic bomb tests France carried out in Polynesia between 1960 and 1996 in the track "Le Jeune". Utterly untouched music that is young, modern and critically aware at the same time. It really doesn't get any better than this.
