Music Electronic/Live, R'n'B/Soul Belgium

Presented by: Introducing

These are enchanting pearls of r’n’b synth pop that Belgian Charlotte Adigéry produces under the name WWWater. Filled by her gentle singing, which is sometimes more reminiscent of spoken word poetry. As a daughter of Caribbean parents she grew up in Ghent, and made her first musical steps as a background singer of the legendary synth pop band Soulwax. For her, singing is like breathing, Adigéry says.

After initial attempts as a journalist and teacher, she realized that the music she had always practiced in bands is her real passion. Now she is pursuing her own musical dreams, based on a progressive mix of experimental electronica, sharp e-drums and her fascinating voice. Samples of her art can be heard on her current EP “La Falaise” (Disco Naivieté), for instance in the wonderfully oblique “Pink Letters”. During her live performances, she is accompanied by Steve Slingeneyer (Soulwax) on drums and Bolis Pupul (Deewee) on synthesizers.
