A lot of indie rock and dream pop
39 new acts confirmed!
As a starter we have the Belgian musician Max Colombie hiding behind this fine music project called Oscar and the Wolf. He has been discovered early by Lou Reed, played as a supporting act for Roisín Murphy. His music schemes between highly unusual, puristically experimental electro pop and dream pop of baroque opulence.
With Portugal. The Man one of the most outstanding indie rock bands in the past 15 years will appear on the Reeperbahn Festival. The band brings along new songs from its eighth album “Woodstock” (Atlantic Records) which will be released this summer.
Rationale is enrichening the island’s scene with his shuffling R’n’B songs. With a catchy chorus lines, a velvet voice and shuffling rhythms his second album is soon being published at Warner Music. Justin Timberlake and Elton John swear on his talent.
A decent portion of girl power is coming with Kelly Lee Owens. The london producer and DJane is mixing abstract rhythms and uses her voice as well but only as an instrumental function. This way she is even convincing the avantgarde scene and Hamburg too, in september!
Whereas other colleagues are still refining their debut, the 25 year-old SERO has already snatched a major label deal. His first single counted over a million streams without even having produced a video. SERO flows elegantly over contemporary trap beats and paints martial pictures with associative buzz words: let’s go, man!
The following band has already released six albums with their fast, authentic folk rock – Current Swell. This year “When To Talk And When To Listen” is following on Nettwerk – wonderful songs about various facets of emotional states. The refreshingly experimental rock band called White Wine really has some guts. Their psychedelic music is a hybrid of wave, math and weird rhythms. Their penchant for simple devices taken from theatre will certainly add a special note to their live show!
