From Urban Art to Gallery Hopping!
Over 70 locations, from church, via museum to passenger boat, an entire town district as festival location – where exactly is the centre of the Reeperbahn Festival? And how can the creative atmosphere from the many clubs, bars and other performance locations be transported to public spaces? The Urban Design Collective L.U.C.K. makes an attempt at the forecourt of the Mojo Club and in Taubenstraße. Spontaneous installations, taking a break on modern wooden elements and lingering in the open air cinema show promise of success!
What is the „Simple Life“ and how much does one really need to live? Invited artists and students of the HfbK and HAW use videos, sculptures, paintings, installations and performances to resolve this question within the framework of Caravan Square. To do this, they transform five caravans into a mobile gallery and performance stage.
The Young Friends of the Art Gallery invite you to a Gallery Hopping, away from the Reeperbahn in Neustadt, to make their way with you through the high density of exciting galleries. In one of them, the Gallerie Kulturreich, we should take a longer break: this is where the Hamburg music photographer Katja Ruge will be opening the exhibition „Ladyflash – Women in Music“ on Thursday, 22.09.2016 at 4 p.m., which she dedicates to a generation of self-confident female protagonists from 25 years of music history.
You will find further confirmed programmes of the extensive art programme here.
