Finale with Tips

You can really step on the gas again with these highlights on today's festival finale Saturday!

For festival visitors:

Moglii, 11:20 pm, Uebel & Gefährlich

Simon Ebener-Holscher has been working tirelessly on his signature sound which he has from the very start described as “organic electronic” – hitting the nail on the head with his description as his debut EP offered a taste of all these delicate ingredients: alternative R’n’B, summerly indietronica and downtempo, all precisely measured but served with precise and powerful production which oftentimes reminds of Simon Green, better known as Bonobo.

Warhaus, 11:15 pm – Elbphilharmonie

Before Maarten Devoldere started releasing smoky art rock with an erotic broadside under the alias Warhaus, his Nick Cave memorial vocals had already become a trademark of the "adult rock" band Balthazar. While he may not always croon quite as deeply and not always quite as rough as for example on his wonderful solo debut "We Fucked a Flame into Being", he was able to amass plenty of experience in the music business over the past years - from which he benefits today especially in form of creative independence.

Wilhelmine, 9:30 pm – Uebel & Gefährlich

Pop music that has something to say. Songs that deal with serious topics but carry an almost weightless hope in their sound: Wilhelmine not only mastered this balancing act with her debut single "Meine Liebe" and wrote a rarely beautiful earworm for warm spring days, but also dedicated a piece of intimate accompanying music to her own coming out. 2019 was that. Since then, the 32-year-old Berliner has released one streaming hit after another on relevant platforms.

Hype, 5:00 pm – 3001 Kino

The lives of the protagonists of HYPE shuttle between hopeful dreams and harsh reality: Musa wants to become a rapper, but every day brings more trouble with the police plus a gruelling job as a parcel delivery driver. Naila sees her future as an influencer in the glamorous world of social media, but cannot ignore her own roots. The series, from creative duo Esra and Patrick Pfuhl made for WDR Cosmo, is authentic and electrifying.
