New Wave of Bands Confirmed!
We’re welcoming aboard a new bunch of brilliant acts: Lukas Graham (photo), Half Moon Run, Petite Noir, Michael Price, FM Laeti, plus many others.
When Lukas Graham (photo) arrived at the Reeperbahn Festival in 2012, he was still a newcomer. Now he’s a big name. The Dane is an impressive presence, with his forceful soul vocals and energetic live shows. Already a star in Denmark, he’s now busy capturing the hearts of fans all across Europe.
A 2012 appearance didn’t work out, so we’re thrilled that indie-rock band Half Moon Run will finally be playing the Reeperbahn Festival. The Canadians combine a range of styles – a result of the band members’ varied musical backgrounds.
Petit Noir, aka Yannick Ilunga, from South Africa cites Kanye West as a profound influence, and he processes this inspiration to create hypnotic pop-soul tracks. Electronic music meets pop and rap on his EP “The King of Anxiety”.
Time and again, composer Michael Price crafts soundscapes that spring new surprises. Among his many projects is the soundtrack for the British television series “Sherlock”. He describes his album “Entanglement” as a personal expression of his obsessions: “music, love, physics and the inter-connectedness of things”.
The driving force and voice behind FM Laeti is singer Laetitia Bourgeois, who hails from the Caribbean and has teamed up with the Dru brothers from Paris to create a uniform collective sound comprising dance-pop, 80s, and club music. “Wanna Dance” is the opening song of the album “For the Music” – and we all definitely wanna dance. All the time.
A big warm welcome also to: Giuda, Kelvin Jones, Federico Albanese, Safia, Kid Wave, Beasts, Puts Marie, Formation, John Monday, Karo Fontana, The Mighty Howard, COSOVEL, Mary Komasa, Sorry Boys, XXANAXX
Have a listen & be in the know!
