In Real Life and via Livestream: Reeperbahn Festival for Everyone

The countdown has started: Only 48 hours to go until the 15th edition of Reeperbahn Festival - beginning on Wednesday under extraordinary circumstances and redefining the limits of what a festival can be.

Regardless of whether you make it to Reeperbahn Festival or not: Thanks to our new streaming platform and a significant expansion of a wide range of media productions, this year there will be an unprecedented programme of live streams, video-on-demand content and web shows. You can access this programme free of charge on all four days of the festival at stream.reeperbahnfestival.com.

As part of the pandemic-proof concept, numerous shows will be broadcast live from venues such as the St. Michaelis Church, Molotow, Nochtspeicher, Knust and from the open-air stage at Heiligengeistfeld. The extensive and carefully curated programme will be made up of our own productions, as well as shows produced in cooperation with our partners ARTE Concert and Norddeutscher Rundfunk. Many of the shows will be available in their media libraries. From morning to night, both broadcasters will show about 100 programme items from Reeperbahn Festival 2020, including concert streams, readings, award ceremonies, performances, discussions and showcases, which of course will also be available on demand afterwards!

To kick things off on Wednesday, you can follow our opening event DOORS OPEN live from your own home, with the prominent jury consisting of Tony Visconti, Melanie C, Brody Dalle, Darcy Proper, Markus Kavka and Frank Dellé as well as the award show and all nominee concerts of the international music competition ANCHOR. Our national and international showcase partners will also present their latest talents with on-demand videos produced especially for the festival. In addition to a wide variety of concerts - including shows by Gisbert zu Knyphausen & Kai Schumacher (world premiere from the Michel), Tina Dico, Drangsal, Akua Naru, Dillon, Maeckes & die Gitarre, Tom Gregory, Bukahara or Niels Frevert - contributions from the art/film and word programme, such as a reading by Lady Bitch Ray, talks with Westbam or TikTok star Lukas Rieger as well as a dance performance by Kollektiva are also eagerly awaited. On Saturday we will also broadcast our Training Day - a programme for beginners in the music business. So it's a programme not to be missed!

But that is not all. In addition, MTV and Reeperbahn Festival legend Ray Cokes will present personal highlights from the digital line-up in his web show every day at 4:30 pm and have a chat with exciting guests.

Registered industry visitors will also be able to take advantage of the extended programme over all four days of the festival. This year's international conference programme, which will take place exclusively in digital form, will start at 09:50 am from Thursday to Saturday and continue into the early evening. We broadcast from four live studios from Klubhaus Sankt Pauli and with the participation of more than 200 speakers from the music, film, games and advertising industry. On eight channels around 100 sessions, master classes, matchmaking events, showcases and industry talks will be available.

We're really looking forward to you and to four days of courageous music, convention-breaking art, progressive pop culture and contemporary future-oriented discussions - so: Turn on, tune in, watch out!
