The ANCHOR Jury is set!
The excitement was great: Yesterday, during the Sequencer Tour in New York City, the jury of the ANCHOR - Reeperbahn Festival International Music Award was announced.
Already in its fourth year, the jury is headed by star producer Tony Visconti, whose search for artists with unique features and unconventional ideas we are once again curious about. Besides Tony, we are happy to welcome another producer legend to the ANCHOR jury this year - Bob Rock, producer of one of the greatest rock albums of all times, the "Black Album" by Metallica and successful producer of Bon Jovi or Bryan Adams, as well as many more. Another jury member is electroclash-queen Peaches, a feminist musician, producer, director and performance artist who has been courageously crossing boundaries for over two decades to transform stereotypes with biting wit and fearless originality, to question social norms and patriarchal power structures, thus changing the landscape of pop culture. The Australian radio presenter and music journalist goes globetrotter Zan Rowe has been discovering new music for twenty years - whether at worldwide festivals and conferences or in her daily radio broadcasts. Her skilled ears seem to be predestined for the tasks of an ANCHOR juror. We also welcome multi-instrumentalist slash empowerment-Icon Kate Nash from London as member of this year's ANCHOR jury. Equipped with a platinum album and the BRIT award, Kate is well known in the music as well as the fashion Industry as a top-notch direct songwriter, unflinching feminist and style icon. With Arnim Teutoburg-Weiß, singer and guitarist of the Beatsteaks and a busy musician performing in other constellations using various aliases, a fitting representative of German rock and further creative head could be won for the ANCHOR jury.
Without any reservations, we now place the difficult task of judging the ANCHOR competition entries at the Reeperbahn Festival 2019 in the hands of our top-class jury and are already now looking forward to thrilling performances and a spectacular prize-awarding ceremony! Exciting: on 19.08.2019 the nominees for ANCHOR 2019 will be announced!
