Sonja Schönfeld has more than 20 years of experience in the media industry – as a TV editor, producer, and writer specializing in fictional formats. Driven by her passion for both music and media, she later joined Unitel, one of the world’s leading production companies for classical music in the audiovisual sector, and subsequently moved to the international music TV channel Classica, which broadcasts live performances, music productions, and documentaries. As Channel and Content Manager, she was responsible for creative processes and partnerships across more than 40 countries. With Unitel and ORF, she developed “fidelio”, the first video streaming platform for classical music, featuring live broadcasts and editorially designed program.
She has been awarded the German Television Award and the Rose d’Or, and was a juror for the International Emmy Awards (telenovela category).
A guest study program in the USA complements her expertise in media communication with an international focus.
Today, she is responsible for international collaborations at GEMA and has led the "Music Impact Study". Shaped by a personal, deep connection to music, she advocates with conviction for the interests of music creators, as creative work deserves protection, visibilaty and fair conditions.
