Braths x Kane & Guests
When music is not just entertainment, not just something that sounds good, but also acts as balm for the soul, it unleashes perhaps the most mysterious part of its power. Rarely has a German-speaking artist understood this as well as Kane in recent times. The singer, songwriter, and producer from Berlin is a representative of a new generation of Berlin pop music that draws on trap and soul as well as on German rap and electronic tunes. Looking inwards and expressing their feelings outwardly, songs such as ‘Meilen’ and ‘Alte Bilder’ (2024) reflect Gen Z’s longing for a better world but also the accompanying disillusionment in these modern times. On the ‘Waldbrand’ EP (2024), Kane holds up a mirror to us all, talking about his personal experiences of life in Berlin-Kreuzberg but also making a connection to the overall state of society in the new twenties. With the singles ‘Eintausend Farben’ and ‘Frieden’ (2025), he nevertheless pleads for hope, for unconditional perseverance in the face of comprehensive polycrises. Music for our time, and not a second too soon, as he will also demonstrate on our stage in September.
