BRY­KU­LETS

Is this hip-hop or songwriter lyrics performed as spoken words? Is funk being combined with Eastern European folklore and pop, or is BRYKULETS indulging in a musically sophisticated joke? It’s hard to say for sure, and that’s probably a good thing. The Ukrainian DIY producer creates music with verve and a wonderfully relaxed, no-fucks-given attitude, which was already evident on his first EP, SekS (2022). Back then, his sound was more rap with a varied beat foundation, but it has since evolved in many different directions. The single ‘Буба’ (2023) exudes summer vibes and is reminiscent of Manu Chao, while the album ‘Медляки’ (2021) erects a monument to Ukrainian folk music and embellishes the whole thing with experimental splashes of colour. But BRYKULETS’ auditory adventurousness doesn’t stop there: This year’s album, ‘Лучше чим твій бивший’ (2025), explores the infectious rhythms of modern synth funk and combines them with the energy of superbly produced dance pop. For his gig with us, the motto is: ‘Unbuckle your seatbelt, relax, and get your dancing shoes on!’
