CHAMELEON LIME WHOOPIEPIE
Some people start a band, while others launch a multimedia full-time project that dips its toes into an endless variety of artistic forms. Chameleon Lime Whoopiepie are not your average band. Instead, they’re a boundary-pushing outfit made up of three artists who, besides putting together eclectic masterpieces such as their debut album “Orange” (2023) or last year’s “Whoop It Up” (2025), also organise events, collaborate with numerous different content creators and integrate Dadaist art into their cover designs and overarching aesthetic. Phew. It goes without saying that Chi and her two Whoopies are turning heads not just in Japan, but also across the pond. Straddling J-rock and zany sampling, downtempo and electro beats, pop-rap and indietronica, the trio celebrate an utterly unpredictable mix of styles that’s bursting with ideas and defies categorisation. With fresh singles such as “Go! PusyuPusyu” and “Perfect” (2026), they’re coming to Hamburg for the first time this year.
