Barely released a single and still able to reach millions of fans worldwide? While that’s no longer a rarity in the age of TikTok, Florence Road have taken this trick to the next level. Two years ago, the all-female quartet from Ireland initially generated a lot of attention with cover versions of well-known classics ranging from Kate Bush to Dominic Fike and Paramore. The fisheye lens edits of their videos instantly went viral, and so, it wasn’t long before their own song material exploded onto the relevant platforms with ‘Heavy’ and ‘Caterpillar’ (2025). Stylistically equipped with the harmonic sensibility of Phoebe Bridgers and the urgency of the Cranberries, the likeable quartet draw on a wide range of influences and are able to gradually transform them into a reduced and idiosyncratic sound. Still largely unknown in Germany apart from niche Reddits, September will be our first chance to see these four talented ladies live.
