Full Flower Moon Band
Simple rock without frills or flourishes – that’s how Kate ‘Babyshakes’ Dillon defines the sound of her Full Flower Moon Band. Since the genre has become frayed and lost its original meaning, it’s a good thing that the Australian and her four-piece band have been able to develop a fresh and incredibly earthy rock concept since their debut, ‘Chinatown’ (2017), which actually utilises established qualities without sounding backward. Quite the opposite: Whether the production values are drilled for raw authenticity – as on the group’s second album, ‘Diesel Forever’ (2022) – or matt-polished triads of guitar, bass, and drums are produced into an unstoppable groove front, the Full Flower Moon Band’s garage rock evokes physical and emotional symptoms of full-blown ecstasy in every performance, making every extreme sport look old-fashioned. It’s not for nothing that their live concerts have a reputation for life-changing qualities. So, it’s high time they came to Hamburg with the material from their latest album, ‘Megaflower’ (2024), and with new songs.
