Headjet

Originating from Berlin’s pulsating club scene, a product of blood, sweat and tears, spurred on by the ecstatic screams from their audience: Headjet are what used to be hailed and promoted as a band sensation. Perhaps it’s no different today, when a four-guy super-young indie combo with a stylistically confident swagger from the capital’s garages storm the big stages of Germany. Songs like the dusty, groovy “Desert” (2023) or the debut EP “welcome” (2022), both delightfully slacker-esque, paved the way for this project - and Headjet are delivering. Since the single “Rücken an der Wand” (2024), they’ve stopped singing in English and switched to their mother tongue. The German lyrics add a sense of authenticity to the sound, which they also honour in the video for the song with a guerrilla performance in the Berlin underground. Garage rock and punk, pop and indie are bolted together here under one single motto: it’s got to go with a clang. Which it does. In September, they’ll also be here in Hamburg.
