Holy Void
From frosty Winnipeg in southern Canada, Holy Void send out ominous waves of sound through the ether. With compositions that are as complex as they are cinematic, the quintet’s songs unfold before your mind’s eye like post-apocalyptic scenarios. The trick lies in the fact that, despite a dark underlying tone, the debut album “Naught” (2019) has a distinct sensibility for melodic lines of tension, which are unfurled with great relish and lend Holy Void’s sound its own atmospheric flavour. This is songwriting dedicated to the trials and tribulations of the human psyche, both tonally and lyrically, taking an artful approach to exploring them. The second album “All Will Be Revealed In Time” (2024), released last year, logically continues this development, revealing the band as musically more mature than ever. Psychedelic post-rock with drone and noise elements, creating an immersive mind movie of a special kind - both recorded and live on stage.
