Hunter Metts

Folk
Singer-Songwriter
US

Hunter Metts was ten years old when he touched a piano for the first time and in doing so set the course for his path to success. As the instrument spoke to him, a creative dialogue began that would later be joined by guitar and voice. Minimalist yet infused with big-screen emotions, the songs by this indie artist from historic Nashville are reflections on his own existence, on love and loss, the lows and highs of his own life. Songs such as ‘Open’ (2022) or the heartbreaking ‘Weathervane’ (2024) are unifying despite, or perhaps because of, the deeply intimate references that Metts continually makes between the lines. The music appears to light up melodically against a backdrop of an emotional idyll, attaining a new level of splendour in the haze of memories. Hardly surprising then that, with a handful of self-released singles, he's already been heard on the relevant DSPs millions of times and is one of the most promising folk troubadours in the USA. This is his first time on stage in this country.
