JISKA
Like a private conversation with your best friend, like a reserved soul-baring without fear of contact, Jana Franziska Binder's music gets right up close and personal with your own thoughts and feelings. The singer-songwriter from Stuttgart knows how to use her voice and bass guitar to open a door that leads to another place. Where? That's always different, always individual. With a gentle, soulful timbre, a precise groove in her fingertips on the bass, and songwriting influenced by blues and pop, the young DIY artist Jiska does her own thing beyond any streaming logic. No wonder, since she grew up in a highly musical household where her parents' record collection was on permanent rotation. It's also not surprising that, thanks to EPs such as ‘Wild Blue Yonder’ (2022) and ‘At The Duck Pond’ (2023), she has made a name for herself in recent years, and not just among connoisseurs of well-crafted bedroom sounds. Both local and international press reviews are more than impressed by the clever arrangements and authentic everyday parables, from which Jiska repeatedly extracts almost philosophical qualities. Her debut album ‘Socially Awkward’ (2025) shows how she has already brought this stylistic language to remarkable fruition.
