They cloak their political stance in a garb peppered with absurdities and Dadaist stylistic bloopers; they prescribe the accompanying sound as a mixture of deconstructed rock “n” roll, grainy wave cut-ups and ‘Neuer Deutscher Kelle’ (New German Trowel), which draws from various sources: In many ways, Kochkraft durch KMA are the thesis and antithesis to the postmodern band project of the new twenties. Thematically, musically and medially closest to a potpourri, the quartet from Duisburg brews an intoxicating drink for the ‘everything must, nothing can’ generation. Their debut album ‘Endlich Läuse’ (2018) and, above all, the charity campaign ‘Cock am Ring’, in which projects with FLINTA+ participation cover songs by male bands from the Rock am Ring lineup, underline the cleverly interwoven irony and no-fucks-given attitude of these musical-political actions. With these, the band deliberately irritates listeners on their latest stroke of genius, ‘Hardcore Never Dies Das,’ delivering a soundtrack for all those who haven't forgotten how to dance, even in the face of a burning world.
