Life is tough – and even tougher in Ireland. Kojaque has a thing or two to say about that in his songs. In his tracks, the Dublin-based artist paints a picture of the socio-economic reality of his homeland – from greasy ham sandwiches to the mounting hardships faced by the working class. His debut EP, “Deli Daydreams” (2018), sets out the thematic and musical framework: Lyrically, it is as serious as it is socially critical, yet the sound is smooth and characterised by a laid-back resignation. Piano lines sparkle over summery beats, whilst the flow flirts with saxophone and string samples as if there were no tomorrow. It’s a feeling that shapes everyday life even beyond Cork and Dublin. Kojaque dedicates bittersweet vibes – spanning abstract hip-hop and boom bap, alternative R&B and jazz – to the duality of frustration and fragility, of youthful bravado and insecurity. It is the soundtrack for a generation that finds an outlet for unspoken feelings against the backdrop of an uncertain future on albums such as “Town’s Dead” (2021) and “Phantom Of The Afters” (2023). His new single, “Antihistamine”, shows the rapper and visual artist in top form in 2026, ready for his long-overdue stage debut with us.
