Lézard
Without a debut album, a PR machine, or social media hype, Lézard have become a genuine underground phenomenon in Belgium. The quintet rock their way through well-seasoned grooves with a mischievous ease that is at times reminiscent of LCD Soundsystem or Devo but that at other times harkens back to Talking Heads or Telex. Spanning disco to wave, making the 80s en vogue again, and at the same time riding the dance-punk revival like a wild stallion – no problem at all for Lézard. With songs such as ‘Nothing At All’ and ‘Manifastique’, they got a flash mob going wild in Hamburg last year and are planning the logical continuation this year: even hotter, even louder, even wilder. Of course, they also have new material from their upcoming debut album in their luggage. A boogie paradise for quirky mavericks and daydreamers, for the rebellious and the blossoming who oppose the status quo not with a bad mood, but with genuine ecstasy.
