Pastel
Somewhere at the end of the rainbow, Pastel have found a pot full of inspiration, which they sprinkle generously over their own song material. The five-piece band from Manchester concentrate everything that the world has celebrated in British rock music over the last few decades on EPs such as ‘Deeper Than Holy’ (2021) and ‘Leave A Light On (Velvet Storm)’ (2024). The melodic hooks of legends such as Oasis and Pulp, the carefree optimism of early baggy bands such as The Stone Roses, and the neo-psychedelic touch of Stereolab come together here in a thousand facets to create a contemporary sound for a world in profound change. The fact that they have been particularly well received in the UK is demonstrated by their highly acclaimed supporting gigs for Liam Gallagher as well as by their own sold-out concerts. With their debut album, ‘Souls In Motion’ (2025), they logically entered the UK Record Store Charts at number 1 this year and are well on their way to becoming the next hot export for European festival stages. But before the hype really spills over from England, you can see them here in Hamburg first.
