Patche
In the celebrated tradition of the greats of Krautrock, Patche like to play their songs in one go, stripped of all the frills and embellishments. The five-piece group from Montreal relies on improvisation in one piece, on deconstruction and the fusion of various ingredients to create a sound cosmos of outstanding quality. As early as on their debut album “Patche” (2023), the band stylistically explored the limits of modular synthesisers in a meditative dance with wild space rock riffs, harmonica and electric basses. The sound is danceable, but equally immersive and kaleidoscopically coloured. Every song is evidence that these guys are no novices, but genuine sound inventors and geeks of music history. One year later, they delved deeper into psychedelic textures with album number two. The surreal “Document” (2024) is all about the tribal development of technoid rhythms, with experimental samples and fantastic arrangements of guitars and drums floating freely above them. At the Montreal Jazz Festival and a complete sell-out European tour last year, they already showed that they can bring this eclectic mix of sounds to the stage with aplomb - and now they'll finally be able to achieve the same feat here in Hamburg.
