Rasco
On the cusp between surf rock and garage bands, the psyched-out folk of the seventies and the indie pop of the 2020s, Rasco glide with dancing ease through their very own hazy soundscapes. The trio from Israel manage a genre balancing act that has been attempted over and over again in recent years. However, this kind of feel-good hit for the hottest months of the year has rarely been produced in such an organic yet sonically unique way. The starting shot was fired three years ago when the band released their self-titled debut album and sold out venues in their home country and beyond. A lot has happened since then. A lot. Now, they have released their second album, “DMAOT”, which shows all of the signs of an impressive further development of the kind of sound design that the music journals of yesterday and today can barely manage to define. It may sound like a jam session on the beach, where the B52s buzz by just as unexpectedly as Julee Cruise and Chris Isaak. And there could hardly be a better soundtrack for the summer.
