REMOTE BONDAGE
Remote Bondage dominate you from afar, via your AirPods, and all the more so live on stage: the Berlin quintet celebrate precisely provocative punk with an extra dose of empowerment that transcends clichés. Even with their debut single “Katze” (2023) three years ago, they casually whipped up a catchy tune for all those who are simply fed up with over-the-top machos. Crazy riffs, crashing drums, three-part vocals – it was the starting signal for a band that has since incorporated rough pop with dark trash and sex into the riot grrrl tradition with singles like “Ronny” (2024) or the debut EP “Wir kommen in die Hölle, aber wenigstens kommen wir” (2024), has integrated rough pop with dark trash and sex into the riot grrrl tradition. They call out what pisses them off, without censorship, without compromise. While their biting humour is never in short supply, Remote Bondage’s cause could hardly be more serious. Their debut album “Good Girl” (2026), released this year, also tackles the faltering patriarchy in the West, the perpetual crisis mode imposed on women, and a viable exit strategy. Bolstered by unfiltered energy and fuelled by a healthy ‘no-fucks-given’ attitude, they’re finally coming to Hamburg this year.
