Tara Nome Doyle

Tara Nome Doyle seems to draw inspiration in equal measure from the vastness and beauty of the Norwegian fjords and from the existential melancholy of our postmodern present. Even with early singles such as “Down With You” (2018) and “Heathens” (2019), the Irish-Norwegian singer–songwriter and producer paints a panorama of emotions that showcases art pop through chamber-orchestral arrangements and illuminates sonorous soul with delicate melodies. Her debut album, “Alchemy” (2020), subsequently succeeded in capturing this carefully crafted style with near-flawless precision – a feat met with equal enthusiasm by fans and music critics alike. However, no one could have foreseen at the time that – with her follow-up albums, “Vaermin” (2022) and “Ekko” (2025) – she would not only add new facets to her sound, but also elevate her vocal and compositional qualities to otherworldly heights. It’s as if Kate Bush were recording lost tracks by Elliott Smith in an old church – without an audience or any distractions. Thus, Tara Nome Doyle’s music has a sacred quality that points beyond this world and finds solace in gentle rapture.
