Even as a child, singing and dancing were a need that Thea May could not fulfil. Driven by impulses back then, she is now a musician who finds meaningful fulfilment in creating. Shaped by her day labourer's job as a former mine worker, she also knows how difficult the pursuit of personal dreams can be - and how much perseverance it requires. She draws inspiration and strength from her biography and her determination to get up after every fall, which makes her energetic Heartland Rock such a spectacle for fans and the Canadian music press. In May of this year, she released her debut EP ‘Brought To You By Tragedy’ (2025), a personal statement about the status quo of working people in Canada, but also an artistic exploration of her self-renewal and career. Her concert with us is another stop on the path of self-determination and empowerment that she shares with her audience.
